The event will bring together legal professionals, trade and industry sectors to discuss topics related to Maritime, Port and Customs Law today.
From September 23 to 25, the 1st Digital National Congress of Maritime, Port and Customs Law will take place, organized by the Brazilian Bar Association, Espírito Santo and Pernambuco Sections, through their Maritime, Port and Customs Law Commissions.
The event will be attended by several authorities in the country and aims to promote among the debaters and other participants, both from the legal area, as well as from the commerce and industry sectors, the discussion on the main themes related to Maritime, Port and Customs Rights in the today, in the search for solutions for optimization, logistics, economy and, of course, future perspectives in the face of the latest economic and institutional crises that have devastated the country.
According to the president of the OAB/ES Maritime, Port and Customs Law Commission, Luciana Mattar Vilela Nemer, “the event will have a plurality of speakers, to give voice to all sectors that interact with Foreign Trade, in a current approach to relevant and constantly evolving issues”. The idea is to address specific topics so that subjects can be given depth (reaching specialists) while allowing didactic exposure (to attract students and enthusiasts of the topics). With regard to the stone export sector, there are interesting topics such as the impacts of the Tax Reform on Customs Law, which will address the impact on Brazilian competitiveness in foreign trade and the history of the position of the judiciary, and its comparisons, in the sense of what the Tax Reform would tend to correct the understanding of Customs Law. And, also, specific analyzes regarding the Kyoto Protocol and Brazil’s main gains and advances in relation to the commitments assumed in the Trade Facilitation Agreement; and the measures that can be taken for the Brazilian government to advance in facilitating trade without compromising its customs control.
The superintendent of Centrorochas, Alessandra Bertolani, confirmed her presence at the congress, which will be 100% online and has a promotion divided into three days with panels on various subjects starting at 2 pm. The event is free. Click here and sign up!
