At an Extraordinary General Meeting (AGE) held this Monday, June 28, Tales Machado, from Magban, and current president of Sindirochas, was elected president of the Brazilian Center for Ornamental Stones Exporters (Centrorochas). Fabio Cruz, current vice-president, was re-elected to the post.
At the opening of the election, the current president, Frederico Robison, thanked all entrepreneurs for their trust and partnership during the three years in which he was at the head of the entity and made a brief assessment of the period. “One of our purposes was to align ourselves with other entities to strengthen the sector, and I believe we succeeded. Today, entities, boards, presidents and councils act in a convergent manner with the sole purpose of strengthening the sector. Of course, we cannot please everyone or share the same idea, but I believe this is healthy and part of any evolutionary process”, he pointed out.
In his first speech as president-elect, Tales Machado, who will end his term at the head of Sindirochas in August this year, reinforced that he hopes to continue with the support of all members and exporters to continue the work carried out so far. “We have been working to end the differences that existed in the sector, we have made achievements, but we still have a lot to deliver. I hope to count on the help of all exporters. We sought to form a list that represented all fronts and it has experienced businessmen who are fully aligned with this purpose. From now on, I would like to thank each one of them for their availability so that, together, we can tread a path of conquests for the entire segment of national dimension stones”, he said.
Re-elected as vice-president, Fabio Cruz reinforced the approximation work done with other entities and asked for a more direct participation of all exporters. “There has always been a maxim in the industry that there was disunity. Today, this maxim does not apply as much. We have an open dialogue with companies, proximity and alignment with employers in Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais and Ceará, the three largest exporting states in the country, among others. So far, we have taken a path to remove obstacles, now we have fertile ground to plant and, effectively, in a few years, we will be able to reap the fruits of these actions. I would like to take this opportunity to appeal to all entrepreneurs to act directly in the actions that are being and will be worked on by Centrorochas. We are going to create working groups for specific subjects and the expertise of each one will be very welcome”, he stressed.
The inauguration ceremony of the new board will be scheduled for an upcoming date and communicated shortly.
