In October, two months before concluding the annual balance of exports, the Brazilian ornamental stone sector recorded revenues of US$ 1 billion from national exports, surpassing the amount achieved throughout 2020. The growth recorded from January to October was of 36%, in relation to the same period last year and was released by the Brazilian Center of Ornamental Stones Exporters (Centrorochas).

The United States was the main destination for Brazilian products. The American market represented approximately 62.9% of exports. Considering only manufactured products, exports to the country jumped to 78.3% of the total exported by Brazil.

The world’s main supplier of ornamental stones to the United States in 2020, Brazil, through Brazilian companies in the sector, is already preparing to participate in the largest fair in the marble and granite sector in North America, Coverings, which will take place in April 2022 in Las Vegas. The country is one of the eight target markets of It’s Natural – Brazilian Natural Stone, a sectorial project carried out by Centrorochas in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) and which aims to stimulate and increase exports of Brazilian ornamental rocks.
