  • Middle Eastern architects are enchanted by Brazilian rocks at an event in Abu Dhabi

With over 1,200 varieties of ornamental rocks, Brazil is a world leader in geological diversity. All this potential caught the attention of architects and designers who participated in the 2022 edition of Bond Events Arc Middle East, held from December 10th to 13th, in Abu Dhabi. The national performance took place through presentations promoted by It’s Natural – Brazilian Natural Stone and by the Brazilian Center for Ornamental Stones Exporters (Centrorochas), in partnership with the national Agency.

The lecture “Know the power of Brazilian rocks”, given by Centrorochas’ vice-president, Fabio Cruz, and by the international rock specifier, Paulo Giafarov, was attended by around 60 professionals responsible for specifying materials in large works in several countries from the Middle East.

At the meeting, they presented all the Brazilian potential that, thanks to the technological production capacity, sees its rocks undergo modern and environmentally sustainable processes. “More than 95% of all the water used in the production process is completely reused”, pointed out Cruz.

In addition to having the greatest geological diversity in the world, Brazil has a large industrial park for supplying blocks, finished and semi-finished products, works of art, design, architecture, among others. “There are countless possibilities for using and creating Brazilian rocks. We can say, without a shadow of a doubt, that our materials are surprising for their colors, textures, patterns and quality of finish”, added Giafarov.

Bond Events is known for connecting suppliers with designers and major architecture offices responsible for works around the world, through business roundtables and mini-lectures. During the edition in Abu Dhabi, eight lectures were held on Brazilian rocks with groups of up to 12 people and presentation of the national segment.

The manager of It’s Natural – Brazilian Natural Stone*, Rogério Ribeiro, also participated in the action and reinforced that it is part of one of the objectives of the sectorial project, which is to encourage national exports. “Our participation was very positive, given the ability to reach the number of relevant professionals directly reached in such a short period and with such great interaction”, he evaluated.

* It’s Natural – Brazilian Natural Stone, a project to promote Brazilian stones abroad, is in the contractual renewal phase between its executing entity, Centro Brasileiro dos Exportadores de Pedras Ornamentais (Centrorochas), and the Brazilian Agency for the Promotion of Exports and Investments (ApexBrasil). As a way of giving continuity to the segment’s image at an international level and maintaining the promotional actions initiated, this action was carried out directly by Centrorochas.
