Meeting marks the resumption of activities with a new composition, approves action in the Middle East, and presents international planning through 2027
The first meeting of the Steering Committee of the program It’s Natural – Brazilian Natural Stone in the new cycle of the sectoral agreement, signed between the Brazilian Natural Stone Association (Centrorochas) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), was held on September 9.
The meeting brought together the new committee members. It was led by Emerson Raiol, an analyst at ApexBrasil and the chair of the Steering Committee, with the support of Thiago Fukuda, the project manager for Centrorochas. The vice president of the natural stone association, Fábio Cruz, also attended the meeting. He took part in the discussions and contributed to the strategic directions of the meeting.
During the gathering, Emerson highlighted the history of the partnership between the Agency and Centrorochas, now in its third cycle. He also emphasized the importance of diversity and transparency in the composition and decisions of the Committee. Thiago Fukuda presented the strategic plan for the period from 2025 to 2027, focusing on major international fairs and on strengthening Brazil’s image as a global supplier of natural stones.
As a key decision, the Committee approved the inclusion of Brazil Stone Connection – Middle East 2025 Edition in the action plan for the sectoral project. The event will include activities such as participation in the National Day of Brazil at the embassy in Abu Dhabi, a prospective mission to Saudi Arabia, and participation in the fair Big 5, which will take place in November of this year. This new activity was included to replace the funds initially allocated for Cachoeiro Stone Fair 2025. The initiatives planned for the trade show could not be implemented because the agreement was only signed one week before the event, making it impossible to meet operational deadlines.
