On December 27, Centrorochas participated in a strategic meeting at Login, in the city of Vila Velha. The president of the association, Tales Machado, its executive director, Giovanni Francischetto, congressional representative Evair de Melo, and Bruno Marques, representing Speed, were welcomed by the company’s representatives, Mr. Gustavo Paixão, Director of Terminals, Sales Manager Mohamed and Handling Manager Pedro.
The meeting focused on the detailed analysis of container handling and the obstacles faced by the industries that use the terminal, especially stones, coffee, and black pepper. One of the items they discussed was the increasing difficulty exporters have been facing in the process of loading cargo due to the notable increase in cargo handling at the Vila Velha port terminal, which became evident in December. Previously, until November, it was a 24-hour release process. It took up to 72 hours in December, significantly affecting operations and bringing about extreme situations for exporters when loading ships.
At the meeting, the parties agreed to find solutions that may overcome challenges and boost stone exports in the short term.
