The Capixaba Movement to Save Lives in Traffic (Movitran) gathered this Wednesday, December 11, the members of the thematic committees to analyze traffic accidents throughout the year. Representatives of the dimension stone sector in the group, the superintendent of Centrorochas, Alessandra Bertolani, and the executive of Sindirochas, Celmo de Freitas, participated in the meeting held at Fetransportes, in Vitória.

At the meeting, statistical data on accidents that occurred throughout the year were presented. In some municipalities of the State there was an increase in deaths in traffic. Despite some data contrary to expectations, the group had access to material showing the progress achieved so far. Movitran has, among its purposes, a 20% reduction in the death rate per 100,000 inhabitants by 2022. Participants also had access to the action schedule for 2020. of the year.

Records involving ornamental stone transport trucks were made during the meeting and the representative of the employers’ union highlighted the sector’s position on this subject often addressed by entities in the sense of awareness of transporters. “Sindirochas has worked both in partnership with entities in the sector, as well as with state and federal entities such as Detran-ES, MP-ES, Ministry of Infrastructure, among others, in search of solutions that bring greater security to the transport of rocks . The union seeks that transport is carried out within the rules and norms, bringing the greatest possible safety to the activity”, detailed Celmo.

Education in the municipalities

During the meeting, a representative of the PRF-ES informed that it is carrying out traffic education work in partnership with the City Hall of Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, involving the Municipal Secretary of Education. The plan involves training teachers to work effectively with direct education with students, aiming at traffic safety. There is already a forecast that, next year, the project will be expanded to other municipalities.
