The president of Centrorochas, Frederico Robison, the executive of Centrorochas and Sindirochas, Celmo de Freitas and the superintendent, Alessandra Bertolani, represented the companies in the ornamental stone sector this Tuesday, March 3, in the seminar “The Capixaba Port System: Opportunities and Challenges”. The event brought together around 120 representatives of companies from different sectors (ornamental stones, agribusiness, metalworking, coffee, clothing, among others) and authorities who filled the Log-In TVV auditorium, in the Port of Capuaba.

The meeting was an initiative of the +Negócios Forum, by Findes, with the support of Log-In TVV, and was attended by the National Secretary of Ports, linked to the Ministry of Infrastructure, Diogo Piloni, with the state secretary of development, Marcos Kneip (who represented Governor Renato Casagrande), with the president of Findes, Léo de Castro, and the president of Codesa, Julio Casteglioni.

The event aimed to disseminate the skills and capacity of the local port system to investors and the productive sector in general. On the occasion, participants were also able to learn about the federal government’s policies for the sector during the presentation by the federal government’s Secretary of Ports, Diogo Piloni, who spoke about the Brazilian port system, its scenario and perspectives. “We are in the process of changing the Brazilian logistics matrix and cabotage navigation is in the Government’s focus, which will allow companies to reduce operating costs”, he pointed out.

Codesa’s privatization process was also mentioned. The auction is expected to take place in the first quarter of next year. The president of Codesa, Júlio Casteglioni, addressing the issue of the draft of the Port of Vitória, said that in April the tests for the approval of the new draft (12.5 meters) should begin, requiring 10 operations in and out of the Port of Vitória, for the completion of the homologation process.
