An international reference for the natural stone industry, Marmomac 2020 is confirmed for the period from September 30th to October 3rd.
In support of a supply chain that in Italy has 3000 companies and a turnover of 2.6 billion euros (of which 1.8 million euros from exports), the exhibition in Verona launches its “Marmomac Re-Start 2020” project. This special edition seeks to relaunch natural stone to a “new normality” in the post-Covid-19 emergency period.
The world of marble, granite, processing technologies and design has been severely tested by the lockdown as 2019 results point to a slowdown, with exports of processed products made in Italy falling by 7%.
Consequently, the objective of “Marmomac Re-start 2020” is to provide exhibitors and specialized visitors with an exhibition format even more adapted to the renewed needs of business and internationality, with complete security from the point of view of health and with even more services and custom service rates.
Thanks to targeted entry activities in collaboration with the international network of the Italian Trade Agency-ICE, the intention is to attract operators and buyers from all over the world to the fair. To ensure connection with non-EU markets that cannot yet participate due to restrictions, Marmomac is also developing innovative tools to enable B2B virtual meetings.
“Through the Marmomac Re-Start”, explained Giovanni Mantovani, CEO of Veronafiere, “our objective is to guarantee the most important natural stone community in the world that we have promoted for the last 55 years a 2020 edition in total safety, marked by the resumption that we can share with customers, exhibitors and operators in response to the challenge that the sector must face. The Verona system, and more generally the country’s system as such, seeks to ensure that the recovery of the stone industry starts in Italy, where Veronafiere organizes the sector’s main event.”
As for the design of the exhibition, certain aspects are confirmed and others are new. “The Italian Stone Theater” returns as the event that narrates the interaction between natural stone, the projects of the main international architecture studios and the innovative processing technologies developed in Italy. On the other hand, there was a change in the design of the fair, with the entrance through the new Re Teodorico gate, the use of pavilions 6, 9, 10, 11 and 12 and the external areas B, D and Avenue E. The logistical solution was also studied in accordance with the #safebusiness security protocol developed in conjunction with other major operators of national fairs.
