Abu Dhabi Stone Fabricator highlights growing use of Brazilian natural stones and supports logistics hub project

Emirati professional already working with Brazilian stones reinforces interest in future partnerships and endorses Centrorochas’ initiative to establish a commercial base in the Gulf.

As part of its ongoing strategic efforts to strengthen ties with the Middle East, the Brazilian Natural Stone Association (Centrorochas) held another round of networking meetings in Abu Dhabi on October 1. The association’s vice president, Fábio Cruz, met with stone fabricator George Henawy, a professional who is part of the network built by Centrorochas in the region in recent years.

The meeting reaffirms Centrorochas’ commitment to deepening relations with strategic partners and promoting a more direct and structured business environment for Brazilian natural stones in the Gulf. Henawy has already taken part in previous initiatives by the association, such as the lectures held during Big 5 Global, and he currently works with Brazilian materials supplied through local distributors.

Among the topics discussed was Henawy’s interest in participating in Marmomac Brazil 2026, scheduled to take place from February 24 to 26 in São Paulo. His presence reinforces the growing alignment between the Emirati market and the Brazilian sector.

Another key point was his support in validating the business model for the creation of a Brazilian natural stone hub in the United Arab Emirates, an initiative currently under development by Centrorochas. The partner expressed enthusiasm for the project and emphasized the importance of predictability and competitiveness in expanding Brazil’s presence in the region.

The possibility of holding local technical workshops was also addressed, with two main focuses: training interior designers on the correct specification of Brazilian stones in projects and providing local fabricators with instruction on the proper tools and techniques for cutting and finishing quartzites.
