With an exclusive pavilion, a striking presence, and a restaurant specializing in Brazilian cuisine, Brazil is transforming its participation in Marmomac 2025 into an immersive experience, connecting the past, present, and future of the natural stone industry.
Vitória (Espírito Santo, Brazil), August 20, 2025 – The Brazilian natural stone industry was established by Italian migrants who brought their experience, entrepreneurial vision, and family values to a country that would become one of the leading global powers in the sector – home to the greatest geodiversity in the world. Today, nearly 70 years later, Brazil is preparing for a historic moment: it will be the only country with an exclusive hall at Marmomac 2025, the most important world fair dedicated to the entire stone production chain. The trade show is held every year in Verona, Italy.
At the event, the Space It’s Natural – Brazilian Natural Stone will bring together 31 Brazilian companies. The space bears the name of the sectoral project, carried out by the Brazilian Natural Stone Association (Centrorochas) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). The full occupancy of Hall 1 at Marmomac 2025 by Brazilian companies represents an unprecedented milestone in the international trajectory of the stone industry.
For the first time, Brazil is taking over one of the most prestigious spaces at the fair, reaffirming the relevance it has gained in the global market and symbolically reclaiming its origins, associated with Italian immigration. It is also a way to honor the pioneers who took the first steps in this industry in Brazil. Many of them are no longer here, but their legacies endure. To round out the presence authentically and engagingly, the pavilion will feature a restaurant specializing in Brazilian cuisine, reinforcing cultural ties and inviting the world to get a taste of Brazil.
Prominence translated into results
Most of Hall 1 at Marmomac 2025 will be occupied by Space It’s Natural – Brazilian Natural Stone, made up of 31 companies supported by the sectoral project by the same name. Besides, 10 other companies will be present individually, creating a vast and significant national presence in an area of around 4 thousand square meters. The companies in Space It’s Natural are expected to generate approximately US$10 million in immediate business deals and US$50 million over the 12 subsequent months – a direct result of the strategic visibility and institutional strength amassed at the most important world event dedicated to the entire stone production chain.
The 31 companies in Space It’s Natural are Altivo Pedras, Andrade, Amagran, Atlas Mármores, Bramagran, Cajugram, Calvi Granitos, Capital Granite, CS3 Revestimentos, Fortuna Natural Stones, Gramil, Granex do Brasil, Granipex Group, Granos, IBMG Mineração, Imarf, Lime Stone, Madson Pedras, Magban, Mameri Export, Maqstone, Marcel Group, MGA, Micapel Slate, Milanezi Granitos, Nova Aurora, Pedra do Frade, Pedras São João, Qualitá Group, Santo Antonio Stones, and Sociedade Marmífera Brasileira.
“This year’s edition of Marmomac Italy will be marked by the reconnection between the Brazilian natural stone industry and its roots. No longer as an apprentice or just another country among many others, but as a protagonist, the first country to have its own dedicated hall. The history of the industry in Brazil was shaped by many hands and many cycles; it is only right to preserve this memory and acknowledge all the contributions made thus far and those that continue contributing to the strong development of the country and to it being respected around the world,” says Tales Machado, the president of Centrorochas.
A history of legacy and leadership
Since the inception of the sector, individuals such as Giorgio Veneziani (Sociedade Marmífera), responsible for bringing the iconic Azul Bahia [Blue Bahia] to the world; Enrico Guarneri (Guarnieri Ltda), Guido Bissi and Cláudio Bissi (Granimar); Dino and Dante Napoli (São Sebastião), Jean Guagni dei Marcovaldi (Marcovaldi Granitos), Gianfranco Biglia (Icesa), the trailblazer for Bege Bahia [Beige Bahia] and the renowned Super White, as well as Benjamin Zampirolli (Mineração Capixaba) and Luiz Scaramussa (Santo Antonio Stones), trailblazers for the stone industry in southern Espírito Santo, among many other pioneers, were instrumental in establishing the technical and sales foundations of the industry in Brazil. Although many of them have passed away, their stories endure in the pillars of the industry and in the contributions that shaped succeeding generations.
Today, this path is represented by Italian entrepreneurs who continue to act with leadership and vision for the future. Bruno Zanet (Marmi Bruno Zanet Brasil) is one of the names that helped promote Brazilian stone internationally. He played a key role in the development of quarries in northern Espírito Santo (the largest exporting state in the country). Sandro Verzola (Vitória Stone and Pedreiras do Brasil) built global alliances that developed strategic markets for Brazil, while Luca Burlamacchi (Decolores) has taken his company to the next level when it comes to management, identity, and positioning in the industry. Stefano Madrigali (Asa Branca) is also part of this group. He was responsible for promoting several Brazilian natural stones in foreign markets. Giulio Malenza (Corcovado/Brasigran), in turn, is still a leading figure in the sector, exemplifying leadership, family continuity, and strategic vision.
Also worthy of note are entrepreneurs such as Alberto Antolini (Antolini) and Giovani Caruso (Alfa Graniti), Geane Carnevale (Marmo Orobici) and Giovane Conterno (Favorita), as well as leaders of input suppliers, such as Dino Bombana (Tenax), who, despite starting his activities in Italy, expanded his operations to Brazil and contributed significantly to the development of the national production chain. This legacy, built by different generations, helps explain the prominent role Brazil will play at Marmomac Italy.
