The president of Centrorochas, Tales Machado, attended the 14th National Industry Meeting [in Portuguese, ENAI – Encontro Nacional da Indústria], held in Brasília on November 27. Promoted by CNI, the National Industry Confederation, the event is the main opportunity for mobilization of the Brazilian industrial sector. The theme for this edition was “Neoindustrialization and reduction of the Brazil Cost: a new industry for a sustainable future.” The schedule included debates on technological advancements, innovation, and sustainability, aligned with the global demands of the 21st century.

The opening ceremony of ENAI 2024 was attended by the President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and the Minister of Development, Industry, Trade and Services, Geraldo Alckmin. Both highlighted that the government is committed to pursuing public policies that foster the competitiveness of the Brazilian industry, paying special attention to sustainability and the reduction of the so-called Brazil Cost.

The representative of the companies in the national stone sector was part of the delegation from the state of Espírito Santo, which was led by the president of the Confederation of Manufacturing Companies of Espírito Santo (Findes), Paulo Baraona. The delegation consisted of more than 40 representatives of the industry in the state. The group attended the event to closely monitor the discussions and contribute to the formulation of policies that aim to strengthen the competitiveness and sustainability of the Brazilian industrial sector.

ENAI 2024 highlighted the need for a new approach to industrialization in the country, incorporating technologies such as Industry 4.0, digitalization, and automation, with social and environmental responsibility. Tales Machado’s participation reaffirms that the natural stone industry is committed to keeping up with these transformations and preparing for future challenges.
