Centrorochas visits association and slate producers in Minas Gerais

Aiming to find new ways to strengthen the slate sector, in the second week of September, Centrorochas had a series of appointments in the city of Papagaios (in the state of Minas Gerais), a region that produces this type of natural stone.

The association was represented by its superintendent, Giovanni Francischetto, who met with representatives of Associação dos Mineradores e Beneficiadores de Ardósia (AMAR) [Association of Slate Miners and Manufacturers] and discussed ways for Centrorochas to expand its support to an industry that generates more than US$ 40 million in annual exports.

Slate mining and processing play an important role in the economy of the region. Through the project “It’s Natural – Brazilian Natural Stone,” carried out by Centrorochas in partnership with ApexBrasil, exporting companies in the region, such as Altivo Pedras, Map Mineração, and Micapel, are already receiving support, strengthening the presence of slate from Minas Gerais in the international market.
