Quartzites, granites and marbles sought after internationally will be on display at Vitoria Stone Fair, which confirms the presence of Arab, American, Chinese and European buyers
The US$ 1 billion mark in exports in 2019 confirms the recovery of the Brazilian ornamental stone sector and the discovery of new buyer markets, in addition to the traditional United States and China. Proof of this is the confirmed presence of more than 50 buyer and exhibitor countries at Vitoria Stone Fair | Marmomac Latin America, which will take place between February 11th and 14th, at the Carapina Pavilion.
According to data released by the Brazilian Ornamental Stone Industry Association (Abirochas), and by the Union of Ornamental Stone, Lime and Limestone Industries of the State (Sindirochas-ES), the United States imported 62.8% of the stones exported in 2019. A significant percentage – with China, in second place, with a share of 16.2% –, but which, according to consultants, demonstrates the interest of other countries in Brazilian rocks. In previous years, the US had a participation of almost 80%.
In addition to these two countries, Mexico, Canada and the United Kingdom are among the main buyers of stones from Brazil. Of the total exported of US$ 1.012 billion, Espírito Santo remains in the lead among the Brazilian states, with a participation of US$ 827.7 million, which corresponds to 81.8% of the total.
In 2019, the 2% growth in exports compared to the previous year is mainly due to the participation of products with higher added value, such as quartzite slabs, marble slabs, marble blocks and soapstone pieces.
With over 240 exhibitors and a forecast visitor audience of 18,000 people, Vitoria Stone Fair | Marmomac Latin America will have the participation of important companies from Italy, China, Turkey, Egypt, Palestine, Australia and Portugal are also among the exhibitors. Among the confirmed buyers, in addition to Americans and Chinese, the fair will also receive professionals from Algeria, Argentina, Costa Rica, Spain, Malaysia, Mexico, United Kingdom, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Taiwan and Venezuela.
“We expanded the promotion of the event around the world. A job that required intense planning, a network of partners and the presence of important exhibitors. After difficult periods, the fair has been recovering its strength and bets on the participation of a qualified public, serving as an environment for relationships and future business”, says Flávia Milanez Milaneze, director of Milanez & Milaneze – the company that organizes the fair and which belongs to the Veronafire group.

The Vitoria Stone Fair | Marmomac Latin America 2020 will be held between February 11th and 14th, 2020, with the participation of more than 240 exhibitors and a forecast visitor audience of more than 18 thousand people.
The event is organized by Milanez & Milaneze, a company of the Veronafiere Group, and promoted by Sindirochas and Cetemag; support from Abirochas and Brasil Original Stones; institutional support from the Government of Espírito Santo through the Secretary of State for Tourism; and sponsorship of Sesi-ES and Senai-ES.
