The Brazilian natural stone sector surpassed, in September this year, the mark of 1 billion dollars in exports, anticipating in one month the value registered in 2021. The data was disclosed this week by the Brazilian Center of Ornamental Stones Exporters (Centrorochas) .

The difference between accumulated values and ornamental stone exports up to September, comparing 2021 and 2022, was 78 million dollars (934 million dollars in 2021 and 1.01 billion dollars in 2022).

The products sold under NCM 68029990 were the main driver responsible for the anticipation of the brand in 2022, representing approximately 81% of the movement observed. It should be remembered that Brazilian quartzites are included in this NCM.

Currently, earnings from quartzite exports cover approximately 29% of the total exports calculated by the sector in 2022. which resulted in an evolution of 27%, when comparing the values obtained in the previous year. The average price per calculated ton of material follows in the same direction, which surpassed the year 2021 by 9.5%.

The United States is the main destination market for products that are part of this NCM, with a share of 83% of all material sold by Brazil, whose export value represents 247 million dollars, surpassing 2021 by 44 million dollars, approximately 22% increase.
